Crab Rangoon Grilled Cheese Sandwich

 Seafood, Small Bites No comments

The Crab Rangoon Grilled Cheese Sandwich…is a sinful snack! Its Creamy! It’s Crunchy! It’s reminiscent of the fried wontons you get from the local Chinese takeout spot! But most importantly, it is an excuse to use up my leftovers from this recipe here.

You’ve heard this phrase before…”This dish is sinful!” Although the Crab Rangoon Grilled Cheese Sandwich is deliciously rich, the sin is not in how bad it is for you but what the name of this dish leads you to believe. The lies that come with this treat can leave one questioning the integrity of their food for quite some time. Let me enlighten you and break this dish down…

*Crab Rangoon, that crab and cream cheese filled wonton that you drown in sweet and sour sauce is not Chinese. Yes, that is a lie as well.

Chinese people don’t use cheese. I, on the other hand, have cheese up the wazoo. No lie, I have a chunk of smoked gouda, a bit of havarti, a semi grated block of parmigiano reggiano, a bag of cotija, 7 Polly-O string cheese sticks and 15 slices of Kraft American Cheese (I know this is a cheese product but I’m including it to support my claim). I have been Americanized. No shame in that.

I’m not sure if you still trust me but give this recipe a try. I mean, do you see that gooey cheesy goodness? You don’t have to believe me to see how amazing that must taste! I recommend you eat this with some sweet chili sauce while reflecting on all the lies you were the victim in. This one is an artery clogger but at the same time a real eye opener.

You may hold these in an oven set at 200 F if you do not plan to eat them right away.
